Being as efficient as possible to exceed our financial targets continues to raise the bar for my team. When you are efficient, you have time to focus on greater objectives like growing the business. Exceeding financial targets also allows you the opportunity to make investments in the organization like new equipment, training, or reward programs to recognize the efforts of the team and promote employee engagement. An engaged team that is meeting their KPIs and feels valued will always deliver results – and that is my biggest motivation. This requires a strong foundation across the board both in production and office processes. Clear strategies and prioritization efforts will yield the highest results and help ensure sustainable progress.
Over time, I have learned that culture has the ability to make or break an organization. It is important to acknowledge the current state of the culture and develop a clear game plan on how to take it from the current state to where it needs to be. This is easier said than done but one major key is to have a clear timeline for when an organization needs to meet required objectives. The primary lesson learned from the emphasis on a timeline? We do not have infinite time to make a change. This is particularly true when a target is tied to many other improvements the organization needs to make to hit a financial objective.
