But it’s equally important to gain commitment from other levels of the organization, especially middle management. Yet, this group is often overlooked.
Why Middle Managers Matter Most
When launching an OpEx initiative, many businesses start with trying to generate commitment from leadership. And that’s understandable because once this group believes Operational Excellence fits within their strategy and is important, it will provide the needed resources to execute it.
The other group of employees an OpEx champion will focus on is the front line. These workers are the ones who will go through the training and will be involved in designing the value stream and, ultimately, its implementation so their support is essential.
With this basis of support, a company many feel they have the foundation for success. And that may be true when flow is working. But what about when flow stops?
