About This Webinar
In this advanced webinar, Kevin J. Duggan will delve into the newest techniques to implement flow that achieves Operational Excellence in the challenging manufacturing environment of shared resources, or processes that produce components for many different product families as well as monument equipment through which every family must flow. He will discuss the six design guidelines for dealing with shared resources, covering the difference between product families and process families along with different FIFO techniques such as sequenced FIFO and offset scheduling. It will also address advanced concepts such as balancing flow at shared resources. Attendees will learn how to create flow for custom component build to supply downstream assembly or customers the parts they need, when they need them. (Formerly titled Creating Flow Through Shared Resources)
Focus Area
Manufacturing
Key Takeaways
- How to create flow for custom component build to supply downstream assembly or customers the parts they need, when they need them.
- How to determine product/process families and set intervals for a mix of parts produced through shared resources.
- How to use multiple FIFO lane systems to create flow through shared resources.
This re-occuring webinar is an overview of the 10-hour course, Creating Flow Through Shared Resources, which takes place during our 3-day Value Stream Design for OpEx training event.
